Reminders when upsizing your rims and tires
This week's tire safety tip: Reminders when upsizing your rims and tires
Upsizing is when you choose to use larger rims compared to the factory-equipped tire assembly that came with your car. This results in enhanced driving experience when turning and stopping, not to mention the "pogi" looks of your car.
As a rule, try to maintain the overall diameter of your tire so it will not affect the performance of the car. Some car manufacturers void the warranty if you use oversized wheels. Better consult with tires and rims dealer when upsizing.
Another note is to have the same or higher loading capacity when changing tires to avoid untoward incidents.
